This document describes how KanaHelper (the “App”) collects and processes data, and the terms under which it is provided.


1. Description of the App

KanaHelper is a free, non-commercial educational application designed to help users practice Japanese Hiragana and Katakana characters through handwriting exercises.

The App does not require user accounts and does not provide cloud synchronization.


2. Data Collection and Processing

2.1 Crash and Stability Data

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to monitor application stability and diagnose technical issues.

2.2 Handwriting Recognition (Digital Ink)

The App uses Google ML Kit Digital Ink Recognition to convert handwritten characters into digital text.

According to Google’s current documentation, handwriting recognition is performed entirely on the user’s device. Handwriting input is processed locally and is not transmitted to external servers, stored, or used for analytics, advertising, or model training.

Purpose:
To provide handwriting recognition functionality requested by the user.

Performance of the service requested by the user (Article 6(1)(b)).


2.3 Practice Data (Local Storage)

The App stores practice history and statistics locally on the user’s device.

This data is stored only on the device and is not transmitted to any server.

The App does not sell, rent, or share personal data for advertising or marketing purposes.
